Our Vision

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” ~ PROVERBS 29:18

As Mrs. Dowd's Teaching Service, we form a network of Christian Teachers worldwide who work, one-on-one or in small groups, with children of all backgrounds, cultures, and religious affiliation. Our vision is to teach children of all ages with truth, integrity, and the love of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

The mission of Mrs. Dowd’s Teaching Service is to motivate by grace. We seek to minister to the children under our care using the following values as our standard:

  • To demonstrate a different teaching model to students, teachers, and the communities in which MDTS teachers live. We express this model first by the heart of the teacher and second, by the unique method of teaching we employ.
  • To serve students by patiently and creatively explaining and teaching subjects until each student gains mastery or understanding of the subject. We maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio so that each child receives individual assistance, attention, and affirmation.
  • To nurture, guide, and encourage students by joyfully engaging them in active learning.
  • To view each student as a gift from God. Mrs. Dowd’s Teaching Service never makes fun of a child or compares children to one another.
  • To be a representation of Christ’s love to a world that has grown cold and intolerant of biblical truth.
  • To exhibit and pursue Christian foundational principles of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. ( Galatians 5:22-23 ) These characteristics are the Fruit of the Holy Spirit and the hallmark and strength of this company.

We are peaceful advocates when asked by parents to represent their child(ren) at meetings with their local school board.  We believe that God's Word tells us "A soft answer turns away anger."
