Dear Parents, Students, and Teachers of Mrs. Dowd's Teaching Service,
Registration for "Springtime Scholoars" or Module III of the Mrs. Dowd’s Teaching Service SES Program is now open!
What is Mrs. Dowd’s Teaching Service “Springtime Scholars” Program? “Springtime Scholars” is 7 weeks of academic work in reading and math (grades K - Grade 8) for SES Eligible Students.
“Springtime Scholars” is provided by Mrs. Dowd's Teaching Service, an approved Maryland State Department of Education Provider!
Where will the tutoring program be? “Springtime Scholars” will meet at
- Bladensburg Elementary School
- Riverdale Elementary School
- Robert Gray Elementary School
- Glenarden Apartments Community Center serving Kenmoor Elementary School and Matthew Henson Elementary School.
- SES Outreach/Visitation Program serving a variety of eligible students at their local libraries
When will the program start? “Springtime Scholars” will start the week of April 18 and meet every Monday and Wednesday or every Tuesday and Thursday, until June 1, 2006.
What will happen during the program? Each time we meet, students will receive 2 hours of skill reinforcement and enhancement in reading and math for a total of 27 hours of instruction.
Each day we begin with a snack, have a break between reading and math with an activity and another snack, and finish our time together at 6:00 p.m.
